Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty of when all of the church buildings will be able to officially re-open, we have decided to postpone our “Knights of North Castle” Vacation Bible School until June 20-24, 2021. This is the best decision to ensure the health and safety of our children and volunteers.
Last week in Children’s Sunday School: We continued our Lenten lessons with the story of Nicodemus visiting Jesus in the night-time. We played fun jelly bean “Minute to Win It” games.
Meet the Staff
Ann has been a Sunday School teacher for about 18 years, and the Sunday School Director for about 12 years. She is also the Vacation Bible School Director, and has led SUMC with a variety of VBS programs including Rome, Babylon, Egypt, Nazareth, Deep Sea Discovery, Shake It Up Cafe, and Workshop of Wonders. Ann lives with her husband of almost 23 years (Joe), and their youngest daughter. Her older two children are now away at college.
I’ve been a member of SUMC since my family moved here when I was in 7th grade. I began teaching Sunday School when my sons, Daniel and David, were small boys and somehow never stopped. If any child wants to hear about Jesus then I’m prepared to share Bible stories and demonstrate the love of our Savior.
SUMC is my church home and its people are family. I have had peaks and valleys in my life’s walk with Jesus, times of great joy and powerful sorrow. Always this church with the family of God keeps my life rooted in what matters and keeps me growing in faith and discipleship.
Stephanie and her family have been attending SUMC for about 13 years. She started out helping with Vacation Bible School, Family Day and did a few years helping with Jr. Church. She’s been teaching the Pre-School Sunday School class for about 4 years now and enjoys Sunday mornings with the kids. They are truly a blessing from God.
She lives in Mechanicsburg with her husband Mike (of 29 years) and her only daughter, Liberty, who is in her first year of college at Slippery Rock University.
